Privacy Notice

SEADDO Academy is a creche, nursery and primary school at Block H, Off Model School Road, Beside Miteda Specialist Hospital,, Alagbaka Quarters, Akure, Ondo State. We are the data controller for the information described here — meaning we decide what is collected and what happens to it.

When you submit an admission enquiry. The online form asks for the child’s surname and other names, date of birth, sex, the class you are applying for and, optionally, the previous school. It also asks for your own name, your relationship to the child, your phone number, your email address, your home address or area, how you heard about us, and anything else you choose to tell us in the message box.

When you contact us directly. If you call, email or message us on WhatsApp, we keep what you send us so that we can answer you and keep track of the conversation.

When you use the website. Our hosting provider records ordinary technical information — the pages requested, the approximate location, the type of browser and device, and the date and time. This is standard server activity used to keep the site running and secure. We do not use it to build a profile of you.

When you use the chat assistant. SEADDOBOT answers from a fixed list of prepared answers held in the page itself. What you type into it is not sent to us or stored on our servers, and it disappears when you close the tab. If you would rather speak to a person, the chat hands you over to WhatsApp — at which point the conversation is an ordinary WhatsApp chat.

Our printed admission form asks for genotype, blood group, brief medical history, religion, state of origin and local government area. None of that is collected through this website, and you should never send it to us by email or through the enquiry form.

Health and religious information is sensitive personal data under the Nigeria Data Protection Act 2023, and email is not a secure place to keep it. We collect it on paper at the school office, at the point of actual enrolment, and only what we genuinely need in order to care for your child.

• To respond to your enquiry, answer your questions and arrange a visit.
• To assess an application and place a child in the right class by readiness.
• To contact you about the application — by phone, WhatsApp or email.
• To keep the website working, secure and free of spam submissions.

We rely on your consent, which you give by ticking the box on the enquiry form before submitting it, and on our legitimate interest in running the school and replying to people who contact us. You can withdraw consent at any time — see Your rights.

We do not sell your information, and we do not share it with anyone for marketing.

Only the people and services that need it in order for the site to work:

• Our admissions staff — the enquiry arrives as an email to the school.
• Resend — the service that delivers that email and the acknowledgement sent back to you.
• Vercel — the company that hosts this website and keeps its server logs.
• Google Maps — the map on our contact page is embedded from Google, so loading that page contacts Google’s servers in the ordinary way.
• WhatsApp — only if you choose to message us there. That conversation is governed by WhatsApp’s own terms.

Some of these providers operate servers outside Nigeria. We may also disclose information where the law requires it.

Enquiries that do not lead to enrolment are kept for up to twelve months and then deleted. If your child joins the school, the information becomes part of the pupil’s record and is kept for as long as they are with us, and for a reasonable period afterwards so that we can issue transcripts, testimonials and references.

You can ask us to delete your information sooner. See below.

This website is written for parents and guardians, not for children. We do not knowingly collect information directly from a child.

Any information about a pupil reaches us through a parent or guardian — on the enquiry form, on the paper form, or in conversation with us. If you believe a child has sent us information directly, tell us and we will remove it.

We do not use advertising cookies, and we do not track you across other websites. There is no advertising network, no marketing pixel and no cross-site profiling on this site.

The chat assistant stores one small note in your own browser so that it does not greet you twice in the same visit. It stays on your device, it is cleared when you close the tab, and we never see it. Embedded content such as the Google map may set cookies of its own when you view the page that contains it.

Under the Nigeria Data Protection Act 2023 you can ask us to:

• Tell you what information we hold about you or your child.
• Correct anything that is wrong or out of date.
• Delete information we no longer have a good reason to keep.
• Stop using your information for a particular purpose.
• Withdraw your consent, at any time, without giving a reason.

If you are not satisfied with how we have handled your request, you may complain to the Nigeria Data Protection Commission.

The site is served over an encrypted connection, form submissions are rate-limited to keep out automated abuse, and access to enquiry emails is limited to the staff who deal with admissions.

No system is perfectly secure, which is exactly why sensitive information — health, genotype, blood group — stays off this website and is handled on paper at the office.

If we change how we handle personal information, we will update this page and change the date at the top. Where the change is significant, we will say so clearly rather than quietly editing the text.
