Standards have been sliding for years. We built a school that refuses to slide with them — and we are happy to be judged on it.
Our story
We built the school we could not find
SEADDO Academy was founded on a simple conviction: the years between three months and eleven are not a waiting room for real education. They are the education. What a child learns about curiosity, effort and kindness in that window tends to hold for life.
What we saw around us was the opposite. Standards sliding year after year. Teaching replaced by packaging. Children pampered instead of taught, and moved up to the next class whether or not they were ready, because an unhappy parent is bad for business.
So we built the other kind of school. Teachers trained continuously rather than hired and forgotten. Classes small enough that no child can quietly disappear. Work marked honestly and sent back when it is not good enough. No child promoted because the calendar says so. Discipline that is firm where it needs to be, never harsh, and always explained — strict, but humane.
We develop the whole child — character, body and mind — and we teach coding from the earliest classes, because a child who can read well, reason clearly and instruct a computer holds something that keeps its value for life. You do not have to take our word for any of this. Ask our parents, and look at where our pupils go next.

The curriculum
One curriculum, built to travel
Blending only works if somebody does the hard work of reconciling it. Three strands, taught as one programme — not three bolted together.

The Nigerian curriculum, in full
Complete coverage of national requirements, so pupils sit local entrance examinations properly prepared. Nothing skipped, nothing assumed.

International teaching practice
Structured phonics, mathematical fluency and enquiry-led units that connect subjects to each other and to the world. A child who moves — here or abroad — is not starting over.

Coding and STEM
Coding is a full subject here, not a club. It has its own periods on the weekly timetable, pupils are set to work and marked on it, and they are graded like in any other subject. They start with computational thinking in the early years — following instructions, spotting patterns, breaking a problem into steps — and progress to writing real code in primary. Designed and led by our proprietor, a full-stack software engineer of over a decade who teaches programming publicly.
